Finding a satisfying and rewarding job in a new country is usually the new immigrants prime objective. To help you get on your way we are including links to the following sites so that if you are planning a move to Canada you will get a good idea of what kind of jobs are available and under what conditions they are being offered.

In our experience most immigrants to Canada conduct some basic exploration of the Canadian job market in the industry and geographic area in which they are interested. The great majority come to Canada come without firm job offers. Most Canadian employers are reluctant to keep a position open for several months while the candidate applies for permanent residence to Canada. This is due to the fact that the employer cannot be sure of the precise date the candidate will be arriving in Canada and because the position being offered is usually one that needs to be filled immediately.

While there are not many sites on the internet designed for job placement, wherever we find one that might help you get an idea of the kinds of jobs that are out there we will add it to this page.

For those individuals looking for temporary employment in Canada in software development, please visit our page on the Software Development Workers Pilot Project which will facilitate the admission of individuals destined for positions in Canada in 7 occupational titles. This program will expire on December 31, 1998 but may be extended.
